Wonder begins from Auggie's point of view, but soon switches to include the perspectives of his classmates, his sister, her boyfriend, and others. These voices converge to portray a community as it struggles with differences, and challenges readers, both young and old, to wonder about the true nature of empathy, compassion, acceptance, friendship, and—ultimately—kindness. Wonder has been a New York Times bestseller for over 5 years in a row with over weeks as 1. The movie Wonder is scheduled to be released on November 17th, Palacio's debut novel so remarkable, and so lovely, is the uncommon generosity with which she tells Auggie's story…The result is a beautiful, funny and sometimes sob-making story of quiet transformation.

Wonder by R. Palacio has completely captured my heart, as well as the hearts of kids all over the world. I have been constantly searching for books like Wonder to add to my collection. I have read Wonder more times than I can probably remember. I came upon it back in college when I was babysitting a kid who absolutely loved it. His passion enticed me.

Everyone of her fans has found something to relate to within this series of extremely inspirational and entertaining novels. Reaching a global audience, Palacio has written something that has said something profound about growing up, as her characters find their place in the world. Generally this has received favorable reviews from both the critics and the general public alike, managing to speak directly to the reader on an almost personal level. Eventually reaching the big-screen in as well, it really is a testament to the original creation of RJ Palacio as an author. Not letting any of this hold him back, he is determined to live life as an ordinary kid, despite what others may think of him.
