Based on the CA model of microstructure evolution, dynamic recrystallization DRX behavior of Haynes alloy during hot power spinning is predicted visually and quantitatively to reveal its DRX nucleation and growth mechanism. This depends on usage of both sides of substrate material and the devices on both sides are connected through the substrate. Additionally, heterogeneous materials can be integrated. For each class of materials, the thermal insulation performance is related to the material's structure and constitutional peculiarities like type or size of the filler, specific filler surface functionalizations, etc. An outlook on the foreseen developments in the field is given. The present review paper adopts a systematic approach to categorize in situ hybrid aluminium matrix composites based on their dominant in situ formed reinforcements including Al 3 Ti, Al 2 O 3 , and TiB 2. It reviews different fabrication methods, in situ phase formation mechanisms, mechanical properties of the composites, as well as the present challenges and potential solutions from both scientific and technological aspects.
